Planning on buying honey in bulk...

I've used Crystal's for years now without issue. Always top notch honey, always reliable, never disappointed. For more specialized honeys, (more varieties than I've ever seen), check out Shawn Darryl Harris on Facebook.

How sweet do you like your mead to be?

I find semi-sweet to be my favored preference. Some honeys, (like Orange Blossom) can make a pretty big comeback for perceived sweetness, so for me, when using Orange Blossom, I backsweeten less than I would than with other honeys.

    Different Honeys

Welcome to the addiction.😄 Yes, there will be a very distinct difference between those two honeys. Some honeys will taste similar to one another, but wildflower will vary hugely as it is sourced from wildflowers local to the region where the bees are working. Wildflower honey from...

Blueberry Mead - Looking for input

Mead is pretty forgiving. Flavors will change in 6 months (about), so be patient. Honey flavor will make a comeback most times, fruit flavors will either stay prominent or take a backseat (depending on how much you've used). Point is, with mead, patience is key.

Blueberry Mead - Looking for input

I would recommend @ least 3 lbs of fruit/gallon in secondary for almost all melomels (fruit meads). Once you rack off of the gross lees, you may want to use a 2 gallon brew bucket with a brew bag for the fruit. Be sure to push the fruit down twice a day to keep it wet, otherwise mold will...

The OP (original poster) was last seen November 25, 2021. You may not get an answer 😖

New mead started - smoked cherry!

If you have the means to marinate under vacuum, (in either a bag or vacuum bowl) it opens the pores in the meat & really infuses the flavor much deeper....& it will do the same in 30 minutes as it would marinating for 3 hours.😉🤤

    Can Honey be too old?

Did you just soak it or did you run the device with that solution going through it?
