We will have to talk. I have a B20 I am willing to part with. I am pretty sure we can come to agreement on a price. I am not sure how to pm on this site.

    Brewie

I have not been getting efficiency anywhere near that and I stir it up a bunch during the mash. Generally seeing 55% - 65%. Anything else you might be doing differently? I would be happy to hit 70%.

    Brewie

I hope it doesn't have a smoky burnt taste or smell, that would suck. I always make sure to be there when it is mashing in and give it a good stir. The first two brews I would stir at mash in and a few times throughout the mash. I am disappointed that I have to do this as it is supposed to be...

    Brewie

I got a nasty surprise this weekend for my third brew on the Brewie. I had been keeping a close eye on it for the first two brews. I decided to let it do it's thing and do other stuff while brewing the Hocus Pocus kit. Luckily I was nearby when the it started to overflow. The mash got stuck...

Best way to add DME during boil

Thanks for all the replies. I had been cutting the the top off of the whole bag and it was letting a lot of steam in. Just cutting the corner made a huge difference. Cooked a cream ale today and everything went very well except for a little boil over. Hop foam caught me unprepared. This is...

Best way to add DME during boil

I am a newbie extract brewer. just cooked my third batch on Saturday. My question is, what is the best way others have found for adding DME to the boil. I have tried just dumping it from the bag, and putting it in a bowl to dump, but the steam just makes it clump up and it sticks to...
