    This is killing me

I agree with the above. My first brew just came ready to drink over this past weekend and the amount that I drank plus the neighbors makes it go quickly. I have a stout that's ready to be bottled and a scottish that been fermenting for a week. Get the pipeline going and you will relax a...

    Stout Additions

To add to this thread, I've been looking around on here and can't really find a specific answer to my question. I've got an Imperial Stout (Muntons) that's been in the primary for almost a month. I had a taste yesterday and it's coming along quite nicely. I was thinking that a little...

    bad customer service

My SWMBO got all my stuff for me for x-mas at a LHBS. When I went back to exchange one of the extract kits the owner acted like I should know how to do everything already and preached the 2-2-2 method. I did my research (mostly here) and learned better. My wife and I just opened...

    Muntons American Lite

I was told by my LHBS to boil the Muntons for 10 mins. It definitely darkened up my continental pilsner, but I like the flavor of it. As someone previously said, it'll all make beer. I'm very glad that I used the Muntons kits for my first two brews, because now my Northern Brewer kits aren't...

Bottling today for 1st time ever...any tips

4 weeks? I thought that carb time was generally considered to be 2 weeks? Please feel free to correct me as I'm often wrong.

    Is secondary ferm needed?

I think next time you post you should tell us what you really think! :mug: Honestly, I know his feeling as I'm pretty new here, too. There's an awful lot of information to go through and it can be pretty overwhelming if you don't really know what to look for. I'm really glad everyone is so...

    Got my first taste tonight!

I already brewed an imperial stout. Also, I ordered an American wheat kit and a scottish ale kit from northern brewer. There's a new LHBS opening up next month here, too. I think the wife may be regretting getting me into this.

I took a sample out for a gravity reading, 1.013. pretty well done, but gonna let it sit for another week then bottle. Ready for Super Bowl. I think my neighbors are more excited than me! (not really)

    Got my first taste tonight!

Hey all. I'm as giddy as a little school girl that i got my first real taste of my home brew tonight. The wife got me a setup for xmas and it's now been fermenting for two weeks. I've been wanting to mess with it real bad so tonight was a good reason to take a gravity reading. It's a Muntons...

    New to the hobby!!

I can say as someone with not much knowledge but with a love for beer, that whatever kit you get you should go ahead and add another fermenter. Grab another bucket or carboy (whichever you choose) and a few extra of the cheap stuff, bungs, airlocks and such. As soon as you brew your first...

Hehe. I had to come out of my lurking to compliment you on that one. Well done, sir! Oh, and hello everyone.
