    coffee beers

Here's the brew details for a Session Coffee Stout I did a few months back. I put 6oz of whole coffee beans into the secondary. I'm going to be brewing it again this upcoming weekend. REALLY good, but it is an ALL coffee flavor profile...

    Session Chocolate Coffee Stout

Update! It has been brewed and it was exactly what I was looking for. It's a light, easy drinking stout that packs a huge punch of coffee. A little bit of chocolate, a tiny bit of roasted malt, very light sweetness. And then strong coffee! Not too acidic or bitter, very smooth coffee flavor...

    Session Chocolate Coffee Stout

Thanks! I did a ton of reading on coffee addition timing and that's the conclusion most threads seemed to come to as well for the flavor profile I'm aiming for. This is the one specifically that I got my main coffee addition ideas from, there's a good summary at the bottom of the OP...

    Session Chocolate Coffee Stout

Not a bad idea. I'll have access to a grinder for the next brew! 10 min into the boil currently. Great aroma. Hit roughly all my numbers. Only ended up with 6.5 Gal for the boil but I think I'll be okay.

    Session Chocolate Coffee Stout

I appreciate the input! I was planning to do ground coffee at a 180 F whirlpool, but I unfortunately do not have access to a coffee grinder (or blender, etc.). I have 1 lb of this coffee so I thought I'd do a series of this beer with the same coffee but with 3 different addition points. 1) in...

    Session Chocolate Coffee Stout

Today is brew day for light bodied chocolate coffee stout. I'd like it to really pack a coffee punch. I'm currently heating strike water! The following is the brew info: 7 lb Maris Otter Pale Malt 1 lb Roasted Barley 3/4 lb English Brown Malt 3/4 lb English Pale Chocolate Malt Strike Water...

Funky Buddha Last Snow Porter Clone Recipe?

How much coffee did you add? And how/when did you add it? I'm making a similar beer but I want a ton of coffee, curious how much makes a person say "too much"... so I can do 98% of that much! :mug:

    Hello from Houston, TX

I'm downtown in the Montrose area. I found you guys on facebook and liked the page! I'll have to try to make a meeting, but I know I'll be out of town on the third Thurs of August. Thanks!:tank: I'm apartment living so I try not to work too hard, but maybe a good homebrew lawnmower beer...

    Hello from Houston, TX

That explains a lot about my brews in Houston! I changed my chiller setup so I thought maybe it was just working less efficiently. Maybe I'll run a portion of it through an ice bath.

    Hello from Houston, TX

Thanks! For LHBS I've visited DeFalcos and Farmboy, both seemed pretty well stocked! I'd love to get in on some group grain buys. Any recommendations on homebrew clubs? Luckily I'm in a small apt with an awesome patio. So it's not too spendy to keep the apt around 70F at all times...

    Hello from Houston, TX

Hi All! I have been brewing on and off for a few years, and finally made the jump to All Grain brewing after moving from Portland, OR to Houston, TX just a few months ago. So far there's an IPA in secondary, and I'm starting the recipe planning process for my next few beers. Right now I'm...

    American Stout Simple Coffee Stout

Great recipe! I'm looking to brew something similar soon. I've got a few questions: What was your FG? When did you add your Cold Brew? Secondary? How long do you let the Vanilla Beans sit in Secondary before bottling? Do you have any theories on which part of your recipe brought out the...
