Thinking about doing the following.
Brew 1: Imperial IPA
Mash 21lbs of grain for 90 minutes at 151 using 7 gallons
Sparge with whatever is needed to get me 7 gallon total into boil kettle. Assuming 50% Efficiency I get an S.G of 1.079.
(Using same grain bed)
Brew two: Baby IPA...

Ok, so I made a winterfest brew a couple months ago. The recipe called for golden syrup which is a british type of breakfast syrup. I subbed log cabin maple syrup in its place since England is 2000 miles away. Well, needless to say, the brew has a bad aftertaste of log cabin. I brewed this...

I tend to brew in waves lately. I figure between prep time/clean up its worth doing at least two brews. Two brews on Saturday and one on Sunday. Crazy tired today, but enjoying all three airlocks bubbling ;)
I wanted to get true comparson between Amarillo and Centennial and by brewing these...
Made 3 IPA's over the weekend. All basicly the same except for hops. One all Amarillo, one all Centenial and one mixed with some kent mixed in.
1) Amarillo gold IPA
8 lbs 2 row
.5 lbs crystal 40l
3 lbs LME
1.5 oz Amarillo (60 min)
1 oz Amarillo (15 min)
1 oz Amarillo (5 min)
.5 oz...
Thanks guys.
I turned the temp up a bit. Now 80 and airlock is starting to burp a bit. I'll wait a few days and check SG again. Not sure if temp increase causes CO2 to expel from the beer or its actually causing fermentation to take place.
Thanks,
Chris
Ok. So Its now almost a month later and SG is now 1.036. I'm going to raise the temp to 82 and see what happens. I think its pretty much done but do not want to risk bottle bombs. Any advice on this matter?
Thanks,
Chris
