    Dark chocolate malt

Here's the recipe I've used. Its just grains, peanut butter, eggs, and flour. My dog seems to enjoy them as much as her regular milk bones. Just make sure you cook them long enough so that you get all the moisture out. http://www.pawesome.net/2011/12/diy-spent-grain-dog-treats/

    Dark chocolate malt

There's no "chocolate" in dark chocolate malt, right? Just wanna make sure because I want to make spent grain dog biscuits and dogs can't have chocolate. Anyone?

    Bottle crates

Style-wise, I don't really care...I just want something that can hold my bottles without them banging against one another (like the grolsch crates in your link) so I don't think milk crates would work. And since I don't live in the UK, I don't think the grolsch option will work either. Thanks...

    Bottle crates

Hi, Does anyone know where I can find plastic bottle crates that will hold 1/2 liter and full liter flip-top bottles? Something like what you would find in a German beer store if you bought a case of half liters. Thanks!

    Maybe a stupid question...

I steeped it in 2.5 gallons at 155 degrees for 20 minutes. With the exception to the last batch prior to this one, where I steeped the grains in 1.5 gallons at 155 for 20 minutes and then poured a 170 degree gallon over the grains again, I've only steeped the grains in all my prior batches and...

    Maybe a stupid question...

I'm only seven batches into the beginning of my brewing life and I tried putting together an American Pale Ale yesterday. I used the following: 2.71 lbs. of American 2-row 2.74 lbs of American 6-row 0.35 lbs. of American 60L 4 lbs. Pale Liquid - Alexander's 0.6 oz. Magnum (at 60 min.) 0.5...

    Partial Mash

Hello fellow brewers, I'm on batch number six and I'm beginning to use a little less extract. However, I'm not set up to use all grain just yet. Anyway, one of the guys at my local home brew store suggested I place the used grains into a strainer over the brew pot after I've steeped them...

    All grain vs. grain/extract

Hi all, Can any of you weigh into this debate? That is, what's better, all grain or part grain and part extract? And why? It seems like lots of the people that I've spoken with who've been home brewing for a while tend to use only all grain; they seem to scoff at any usage of extracts. Is...

    Secondary fermentation

Good morning all, I brewed an English ale yesterday (using grains and extract). When I transferred it to the carboy, a decent amount of trub made its way in. Does the use of a secondary fermentation device help get rid of some of that trub before it goes to the bottling bucket? I guess what...

    Bottling question

Hi, I brewed a batch of stout last Saturday. The fermentation took a little over 24 hours to start. Today, seven days later, it's still slightly bubbling (very slowly). I was planning on bottling tomorrow but I'm not sure if it'll be ready. If I take a hydrometer reading tomorrow and it's...

    Steeping grains

Thanks! Btw, it's not all-grain, but it's not from a kit either. I used an online tool and selected my own grains, dry and liquid extracts, sugars, hops, and yeast. So, I'm not sure what that makes it. This is only my fourth batch brewed; the first two were straight up kits. Bottom line...
