Trying out the kolsch dry hopped with pine fruit hops.
Not overly impressed with this hop variety. Aroma isn't as intense as I would like. Definitely not "simcoe like" at all. I would say they are similar to comet, very faint pineapple aroma
Does anyone have any experience with this variety?
I had a galaxy dry-hopped kolsch from bluejacket brewery in DC and it was fabulous. It inspired me to brew something similar.
I have a couple ounces of "Pine Fruit" hops and was thinking of dry-hopping with them.
Google search doesn't...
Lemme resurrect this thread a bit....anyone in Tampa order one of those complete water reports?
I live in Washington state right now and the water here is AWESOME. I'm originally from Tampa and moving back soon.
I've never brewed with Tampa water, but am aware that it tastes like crap
I feel like I should know the answer to this but I will ask anyway...
My buddy and I collaborated on 15 gallons of imperial stout we aged in a bourbon barrel with vanilla beans and cacao nibs.
So does it go into wood aged, imperial stout, or specialty ale category?
Help me out bjcp judges!
Thanks, I'm glad you like it! I like to do small variations of this recipe quite often. For example, the one I have on tap right now I replaced half of the two row malt with pilsner and upped the dryhop addition to 3.5oz! It's wonderful
I tested out the beer by serving through the cobra tap and it is definitely over carbonated.
The bottle has a label that says 70% nitrogen, 30% co2 right on it...
You think there is any other way to actually test the gas in the bottle to make sure it is labeled wrong before I take it back...
is my method of thinking flawed here.... shouldn't 25-30 psi of 70/30 beer gas overcarbonate a beer?
30*.30= 9psi 9psi co2 @40degrees F = 2.2vol = overcarbed?
can someone explain this to me?
the keezer stays at a constant 40degrees F and flows through shanks that are attached through the collar (no tower) I ordered the whole nitro kit (including regulator) through kegoutlet.com. The tank was purchased and fille through a fairly reputable source ( even though the first one they gave...
