    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

My last IPA involved alternating Simcoe with Cascade using Cascade in the fermentor. L'm thinking Simcoe might be too "Catty" for a 1 gallon batch. It's a potent hop.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Throw some hops in the boil at the very end for more flavor, and, drop some in the fermentor about a week before bottling. I love Cascade or Citra for this.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Thanks for the awesome thread. Bad shoulder injury this past year and it'll be awhile before being able to lug carboys around. The 1 gallon sounds great, and I get to keep quite a variety of beers on hand. All grain to boot. 2 gallon cooler should be the right size? Really pumped to get back...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

    Cure for low efficiency

Maybe there's something that I'm omitting from the necessary information for BeerSmith to give that outcome.

    Cure for low efficiency

Victoria mill. It's OK for partial mashes. I need the aerobics! 1#Begium pilsner, 0.6 each Acid Malt, Aromatic malt and Malted Oats. 6# Pilsner LME.

    Cure for low efficiency

I did a partial mash(Surly Cynic NB), mashed at 152 for an hour, brought the mash slowly to 168, and then tea baggged the mash for 10 minutes in 168 degree sparge water. According to BeerSmith, my efficiency was 35.0% I'm to the point in my brewing where I'd like to more about my brew then:"Hey...

What a weekend. My Dubbel is ready to drink, I just bottled a Berlin Wheat partial mash, and now I'm brewing a partial Trappist Ale. Lost My Well :(

That rotten egg smell is the worst. Yeah, I'm hoping this clears up in a couple of days. Our well is only 40-50 feet deep.

    Why do you brew?

Why do I brew beer...It's Tasty and also the company I keep. One guy's comparing it to a blank canvas. Another is using Cap'n Crunch and Cocoa Pebbles! I partial mash in a 3 bedroom apartment with no basement. We came back from vacation to a 95 degree apartment. Somebody forgot to leave the AC...

    Lost My Well :(

We had to have a new well drilled yesterday. I lost a true friend that was the base for many awesome brews. Now I'm going to have to buy "Wally Water" until the newbie settles down and I test what's coming out of the tap. Right now it tastes like a swimming pool.
