    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

I think original Mott's 100% apple juice does contain vitamin c. Is that the culprit? I notice on their website that they sell fresh pressed apple juice that contains no vitamin c, should I switch to that next batch or is there another brand you guys recommend?

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

What apple juice are you guys using? I've used Mott's on both my Edwort's Apfelwein and this graff (followed the directions exactly) and they've both ended up extremely tart and not very palatable. I've even let the apfelwein sit for 7 months and the graff for 2 months and they haven't balanced...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Well I cracked open a few bottles after 6 weeks and the apple flavor is really starting to come through. It's pretty tart, and any over-spiciness from the hops has now mellowed out. It has definitely gotten a lot better from the initial 2 week taste test. Unfortunately after 3 bottles, while...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

I just cracked open a bottle yesterday after it hit the 4 week mark of bottle conditioning and I do have to say it has gotten a bit better than the bottle I cracked open after week one. I noticed it had just a tad bit more initial apple taste than the first bottle, but the back end still has a...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

I just bottled mine a couple weeks ago and used Coopers carb drops (1 per standard beer bottle). Cracked one open last weekend and they seem to be carbing nicely.

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I followed the recipe/fermenting time exactly and I found that this had a very alcoholic bite from the get-go. I'm noticing that the longer it's been sitting in the bottles, the more mellow it's getting and the more the apple flavor is starting to show through. If I had to start over, I...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Started a batch of this on July 4th and followed the recipe exactly. Should I follow the times for fermenting and bottling, or have you guys had better results extending those times? Thanks!

Question: If you want to make a blueberry wine/cider, could you essentially follow this same recipe substituting 100% blueberry juice? If so, what yeast would be recommended? Thanks.

How much do you normally add to your batch? And do you rack to a secondary fermenter after a certain amount of time? Thanks

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I have a question. I hear all of you talking about adding raspberries to the apfelwein, when exactly do you do this and how much? I finished my first batch last month and have already bottled (half carbed, half still). I found it to be a little on the dry side and was hoping this may solve the...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Well, just drank my first wine bottle of this stuff last night. Tastes almost like a chardonnay or chardonel right now. It did hit me like a ton of bricks as stated. I ended up passing out on the living room floor last night (the 23 beers we sampled beforehand might of had something to do with...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Thanks everyone for all your insight and help in this forum. I just finished bottling my first 5 gallon batch after 2 months in the fermenter. Question is I dispersed it between 15 wine bottles (still) and 18 beer bottles with Brewcraft carb drops, realistically how long should I wait on...
