How much fresh cut lemon thyme do I add to a saison?

It turned out really, really good. Unfortunately all my lemon thyme died last year or this would be a regular in my brewing schedule.

How much fresh cut lemon thyme do I add to a saison?

This is what I went with. Mainly because I was kind of shocked at how much I had to use to get to .5 oz. I read in another thread somewhere that thyme has similar properties to hops as far as utilization goes and to use them as you would a late hop addition

How much fresh cut lemon thyme do I add to a saison?

So far it appears to be working well. I froze it for a bit beforehand (only a few hours really) and just tossed it into the kettle after flameout for 20 minutes while I waited for the kettle to cool. Ended up with a pretty noticeable lemon flavor. I think it's going to play really nice with...

How much fresh cut lemon thyme do I add to a saison?

I actually ended up doing this yesterday. Clipped about .5 oz (which ended up being almost 2 full handfulls) and tossed it all in inside a hop bag. Ended on that number because it seemed like a lot. Preliminary tastings before I added the yeast indicate a very noticeable lemon flavor. I may end...

At flameout on a 4 gal batch

How much fresh cut lemon thyme do I add to a saison?

Very basic malt bill (pilsner, wheat) probably use 3724 as my yeast and Pekko for the hops addition. I might even dry hop with Pekko since I notice during my gravity readings that it gives some pretty unique flavors (kinda minty). Just need advice on how much lemon thyme to add. I definitely...

First year hops (zone 9B) Tettnag, slowing down and no longer sticking to twine

Pretty much the title. 4 rhizomes planted in late February. We had a week of unusually warm weather and a ton of rain. Only 3 rhizomes broke ground and grew about 5 feet in a few weeks and sorta chilled the last month. Just checked today and one has fallen off the twine and is just sorta hanging...

    Loquat saison?

How much did the loquats come through? I was beginning to expect to have to do 1.5 lbs per gallon. Also, did you skin them? I've never bothered to skin any of my fruit additions before, and the handful I've eaten had the skins still on them so I know they don't taste bitter

    Loquat saison?

I'm freezing mine since I probably won't get to it for at least a month or so. Even then I really don't need to brew but I do need to brew. You willing to share that loquat jam recipe? I'm thinking I should have a bit left over once I get everything sorted

    Loquat saison?

Will do, but don't wait on me to get them down. Have had several friends that didn't get around to doing it last week and the crows took them all before they could get to it.

    Loquat saison?

Hahaha, I'm seeing how this might be a problem. I only managed to get about 1.5 lbs off the bottom of my tree today. Still took an hour or so to seed them all. I'm hoping to do at least 1.25 lbs/gal I think. I might make this saison a partigyle and only collect 3 or so gallons of second runnings...

    Loquat saison?

Looking like it's just about loquat season here in Florida. Wondering how many pounds I should try to harvest from my tree to ensure I get a solid flavor contribution from the loquats? Will probably use a slurry from a 3724 batch of saison I have going now. Most likely with a typical saison...

Looking for something to do with leftover Gesho (Ethipoian "hop stems")

Brewed a Tej but have a ton of leftover Gesho. The Tej is coming along nicely and has a pretty sweet/unique flavor to it. Not too interested in the Ethiopian beer I've seen recipes for but I could be interested in trying this in a cider/gruit? Maybe a wit or saison? Just sorta looking for places...

    Tej, an Ethiopian Honey Wine

I just found that shop. 9 bucks for 8 oz shipped to me vs 21 on Amazon. Can't beat that. Curious what it tastes like, might have to use some for a gruit
