What is your home brewery's name?

When my wife and I were living in sin both with kids from practice marriages our family nickname became H2 Family since both of our last names started with H. Years later number 2 daughter had this sign made - H2 Brew House. Established date is 20 years off, oh well.

do REALLY hoppy beers dehydrate you?

I'm with Brac on this one. If I drink a lot of extra hoppy IPAs I wake up with super dry mouth and feel dehydrated. Not just related to ABV, happens with lower ABV brews too. Still worth it to me, glass of water by the bed solves it. No need not to drink them. Also worse for me if I use...

Grant a glance at your glassware

Cleaned the beer glass cupboard earlier this year. A few are gifts but the majority were from brewery vists or festivals. Not shown are the glasses boxed up because we had no room for them.

    garage brew space

@CanaHomebrew, matt_m is correct, the metal pegboard is from Wall Control. I got mine on Amazon but they sell direct too.

    garage brew space

Not a perfect picture, just what I had on the phone. The full front of the garage is bew space. Hard to see but the far side has kegerator and stainless utility sink. 3rd car garage has all of the ingredients and storage for stuff.

    Economy kettle

That sounds normal to me. When you are cleaning after a brew put a cup or so of vinegar and a little water to the kettle. Splash it around, wait a few minutes then a light scrub with a sponge then dump and rinse. Leaves mine clean and shiny every time.

    Camlock Cotter Pins?

I took them off and use them to lock the handle on my corny keg lids.

    Price for welding

The May/June issue of Zymurgy has a detailed article on how to build a stand out of strut channel with everything purchased at Home Depot. I think the cost was about 250. Depending on what tools you have you may need to add 100 to 200 more. If you join the AHA for 35 bucks or so you should be...

What is the one piece of add-on equipment you couldn't live without

For me the best addition was a new wife. When I started brewing it was always a fight to find brew time. I traded the SWMBO for a supportive spouse and brewing has never been an issue for the last 15 years. It helps that she loves stouts and IPAs and loves to go brewery hopping. This did...

    Holy blowoff...

A couple of nasty blow offs in the house and suddenly the wife was very supportive of me getting a 15 cf chest freezer and temp controller to make a ferm chamber. I also got control of the 3rd garage for it. At least for me making a mess in the house was a good thing.
