I experimented with a batch 2 weeks ago. It's still sitting in a secondary, so the verdict is still out. This forum article helped convince me to try it. Efficiency will be lower, but people have reported higher efficiencies when using BIAB like you are. Good Luck

BDupree, thats a great point. But i actually did that. I have this OCD thing where i have to spin the hydrometer at least twice every time just to make sure it wasn't stuck. Maybe somehow it still was stuck though.
I'm assuming that I should go with the second reading? I know there are...
Just finished up a brewing a batch of SHMBO Slayer. I used brewtarget and was spot on for all of my numbers. Preboil gravity matched up, post boil gravity matched up. Everything was perfect, infact almost too perfect. My numbers matched my Brewtarget numbers exactly.

First of all, here is my informal introduction! My name is Cody and I have been brewing since december. I am on my 4th batch of beer right now, and I am making Papazian's Rocky Racoon Honey Lager.
This is only my second non-kit, and full boil beer. In my haste, I filled my pot with water...
