    Arduino - Networked Temperature Monitor

Nice! Run into any gotchas while doing it? When I did the LAMP setup on my RPi, I used the info towards the bottom of this link to install the Apache/MySQL/PHP stuff, and it worked like a charm. Let us know how it goes!

    Arduino - Networked Temperature Monitor

The key point there being "unsecured" - if you have no encryption on it, you're asking for trouble. But any wardriver that i ever heard of will be able to tell that there's a wifi signal there if you're broadcasting the SSID or not, and if they are capable of pulling the encryption keys from...

    Arduino - Networked Temperature Monitor

I wound up picking up one of the Netgear wireless dongles (nice and small, don't really stick out much at all), and got it working pretty easily with the RPi distro - had issues getting it to work easily under the Adafruit, so I switched over the RPi native and got it working pretty easily after...

    Arduino - Networked Temperature Monitor

Followed you over from the RPi thread, and subscribed to this one as well. Have you taken a look at the Gertboard they're coming out with? Looks like it handles the level shifting, the ADC (DAC as well, but less necessary), and provide a slot for another controller to handle the I/O intensive...

    Raspberry Pi Temp Controller

That's what I was looking at running with to start. Just ordered some additional stuff from them (i2c 16 port i/o expander, 8 channel SPI ADC, etc.) for basic testing and prototyping.

    Raspberry Pi Temp Controller

Great info - thanks! I know I would certainly appreciate you putting together a schematic for wiring up the Pi when you get a chance - just ordered mine, and can't wait to start playing with it . . .

Anyone have a grain mill I can use for a few minutes?

Sounds like a FLHBS just offered. This is also the reason I have a mill on order :) Thanks, Paul! I've been meaning to stop in and check The Witches Brew out - my brew buddy is down in Warwick, RI, so you guys are right about in the middle! I'm working until 3:30 today, but will head down...

Anyone have a grain mill I can use for a few minutes?

I have what I thought was an extract & crushed specialty grain kit I was going to brew on Sunday . . . turns out it's an uncrushed partial mash kit, and my Barley Crusher isn't due for a few weeks (darn production delays!). Just tried the rolling pin/freezer bag approach on half a pound of the...

    Raspberry Pi Temp Controller

I'm very interested in seeing this, too - I'm debating using a Raspberry Pi as a central control unit for an electric brewery, and am curious as to how you wired the various I/O bits to the GPIO.

    Restatement Eight

Brewed up a batch of this Saturday morning - couldn't get Simcoe hops anywhere up here, and had to replace them with Summit for the full boil and Zythos for the later additions. Blew the top off the fermenter within 12 hours. Hooked up a blow off tube, and after the first 36 hours it settled...
