    Fermentation and blowoff

    I had a geyser on a belgian ale I made. Looked awesome, but didn't have that much liquid loss.     I brew in the garage with the garage door cracked, and a CO alarm. Last month the CO alarm did go off because the garage door wasn't cracked enough, so there is danger there. Last brew day, I monitored the CO detector, and it never registered anything. I was also careful to make sure the burner...

    Efficiency ceiling?

    My last 10 gallon batch yielded a really high efficiency, higher than normal. I tried to maintain a sparge at 168 that took 55 minutes, and I still had 1.020 sg in the remnant runoff. This was also with 27# of grain.

    How long was your sparge? My last 10 gallon batch took 55 minutes, and I had really good efficiency.
