    Bottling Advice

I've started to get sick of all the 12oz bottles so I turned to my friend the growler, it is a twist off but whenever I open it I always hear a healthy amount of carbonation. I have plenty of these because Cape Cod Beer only sells in growlers. Can I get away with this or should I move on to flip...

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

Finally upgraded to a 6.5 gallon fermentor, so much easier to clean than a MB. I rushed my last batch due to me leaving for sea, that was a mistake. Another crappy batch. I will try one of midwests 5 gall kits in the spring when I get back. Can any comment on midwests kits?

I've found if you search places for kit recipes they give you the measurments you can easily make your own recipe from that. But don't cut down the hops in half because the utilization will get messed up.

The last half filled bottled I had had the full amount of sugar in it(I do tabs in bottles). It came out great, super carbonation. Even with a perfect pour it was 75% head. Next time you bottle just keep checking through the lid to check when the trub is about to come through your spigot.

I really don't want to split the kits in half because I have to make 2 batches of that brew. I've made a hefeweizen from a 2.5 gallon recipe one member gave me and hopefully came out delicious. Its bottled and needs one more week. But moving away from Mr. Beer is a great thing to do. The...

    WTB Brew Kettle Boston

Hi I'm looking to get a little bit more serious into brewing and realized that I need a bigger kettle before I can make bigger/better batches. Looking for a sturdy SS pot. Not one of those 30 dollar ones off Midwest. Let me know, thanks in advance. Chris

I made the mistake of getting extremely anxious on my first batch and kept trying mine till its was bottled conditioned ready. Waiting that two weeks is pretty hard. Also cidery taste could be from booster which I assume you threw in your first batch. Another thing, Mr. Beer kits are pretty...

Another quick question, for those of you using pellet hops, do you even muslin bag them or just strainer them out. I was ordering a recipe from midwest and didn't know if the bag was neccesary.

The fermentors work fine(Minus Spigot) just use different ingredients than Mr Beer's. Also a quick question, I need to upgrade my pot, its not big enough, however I don't want to spend the money just yet on a nice one. Would I be able to use a lobster stock pot(19QT) for the time being?
