    Pacman yeast smell?

I made a starter of Pacman from the Wyeast special release last year and it smelled like watermelon! Very weird but good as hell. I'm looking at a growler of Dead Guy right now, mmmm.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Teach a friend to Homebrew day a week early. My buddy's are coming over for a keg cutting/drilling and brewing session. 4 rescued kegs and a Simcoe DIPA. 1.073 and 70.2 IBU's of sweet, sweet Simcoe.

Being English in America has a sucky side

Gordon Ramsey or Nigella Lawson? Stones or Beatles? Peanut Butter or Gnutella? Chips or Crisps? Is Shaun of the dead your favorite zombie movie? Have you ever met Simon Pegg? Simon Cowell? Simple Simon, the guy that met the pie man? Do you like pie, man? It's cathartic to channel your...

Another "Where to drill kegerator" thread

From the schematic it there are coils on the back halfway down, I don't see that they connect to anything else. The condensor is on the bottom. The sides and top look clear. Carefully start your hole from the inside, cutting through the plastic liner. That way you can check for line before...

    Greetings from South East Michigan!

Eh from the Clem. If you want to travel to the East side I've got a couple of cases of bottle that you can have. Some with labes, some without. I f**cking hate bottles. Chris

Would this make a good keggle???

Everyone together now.... It's not aluminum, it's stainless. Ugly, dirty, dented, scratched stainless steel. The same kind that everyone else is using, from the same source that everyone else used as well. Think of it as beer community activism, You are personally making sure that 1 keg will...

    Dry Hop Primary

Just looking for other's input regarding late additions. Honestly I'm thinking "F**K DFH 120 min. IPA, why not focus solely on the secondary and kegging additions. I'm hop crazy right now, so I'm thinking of installing a Randall on the inside of my kegerator door.

    That "home brew flavor"

I think that it's a function of multiple issues with noob brewers. Too small (concentrated) a boil, LME, abreviated or low temp boil, poor aeration = overly sweet, metallic(a), under-hopped beer. The upside is that it will get better, you will get better. Each step you take brings you a...

    That "home brew flavor"

I notice it only when using LME, doing an incomplete boil, or finishing short. It's a cloying sweetness.

    Dry Hop Primary

That's correct. I looked at the empty primary, looked at the half bag of hops in my hand and then dumped them right in. I guess I was wondering more about late addition hops. I've done this recipe several times before and dry hopped in secondary and then again in the keg. This time I'm just...
