    So who's brewing this weekend?

Interesting you should say so about squeezing. This was my first BIAB and I definitely had "NO SQUEEZING" in the back of my mind from reading the forums. I wonder if anyone else has some feedback on the topic. Either way, maybe tannins could be a good characteristic depending on the style of...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Made Beernip's Pike's Kilt Lifter clone yesterday. Did not have peat smokes malt available, so just used the smoked that the LHBS had. Also replaced Kent Goldings with Styrian Goldings because that's what I had on hand. Also used WL Ettinberg yeast instead of Suggested yeast. This was my first...

Easy Stovetop All-Grain Brewing (with pics)

Thanks for the idea. I realized I could get an 8 gal pot at the local Latin grocery. $25 and I'm good to go. Just going to research the method a little more and maybe I'll be BIAB by a week or two.

Belgian dubbel partial mash gravity issue.

Just wanted to say thanks to machine shop brewer. I put a heating pad around my Belgian on Sunday. It's been sitting at 80 degree, steady. When I got home today, it was bubbling every 20 seconds. My yeasties are alive!

Belgian dubbel partial mash gravity issue.

Noted. What range you think my FG should be? I was hoping for around 1.014-16.

Belgian dubbel partial mash gravity issue.

I brewed a dubbel last week. White labs Belgian abbey ale yeast Main mistake- over poured the extract. I failed to weigh it according to the recipe. This brought my OG way over the expected one, which was supposed to be 1.068. So, I added water to bring it down to 1.070. I stopped there because...

Easy Stovetop All-Grain Brewing (with pics)

I really appreciate the advice. I definitely do not want things to go wrong. Your feedback is just the kind of thing I need. I do not plan on rushing in to this. The first step for me is getting a bigger pot. My 5 gallon is aluminum, I never even considered that the bigger pot would be aluminum...

Easy Stovetop All-Grain Brewing (with pics)

Well, according to the original post, Death Brewer says that you can brew an All Grain batch using at minimum, one 5 gallon pot (which I already have) and one 6 gallon pot. I realize that the bigger your pot, the better, but I am limited on space. The mash happens with about 3 gallons in the...

Easy Stovetop All-Grain Brewing (with pics)

This post has me riveted. I can' wait to get a 6 gallon pot. This is just what I needed. I learned today that AG is much cheaper than PM. With that being said, I thought I wouldn't be able to get to AG for a very long time considering my resources at home. Now that I have found this thread, the...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Today I'm brewing a basic American Pale Ale partial mash kit I picked up from the LHBS. I am also bottling a Belgian Wit. I've introduced my buddy to the world of brewing, so once these bottles have CO2'd and conditioned, he will have experienced the whole process. Congrats to my buddy Gary on...

    Belgian Wit FG

Almost five years later and I've finally gotten around to brewing again. I'm brewing the exact same recipe of Belgian Wit as when I made the original post. This time I made a starter. What a difference! I've gotten 75% attenuation in exactly one week. Not so slow this time. Transferring to...
