Gravity at 1048 after 1 week of fermenting, What does this mean?

The only thing I can say is try and get the yeast going by bathing your carboy in some hot water. Worked like a treat for my red wine earlier.

This may be stupid, but is it possible to bottle whilst fermentation is still going?

I'd love to keg but I'm trying to do this cheap with wine bottles and corks. This will be my first ever brew and it's cost me about £9 so far. I'd like to keep it that way :)

So sarcasm aside, if my kit says complete in 4-6 days an I'm on day 7 with a little bubbling in the airlock, will I get a nice beer or just 40 bottlebombs?

I know this question obviously sounds stupid, but is is possible to bottle a stout in the final stages of fermentation to maintain some fizz? Or do I have to wait and add sugar like you would with Cider? Thanks

So would it be worth doing this now, it's slowed down a hell of a lot, i'd hate to get a stuck at 1.015 or so

What Final Gravity should I be looking for?

I'm scared of it stopping as it's slowed down completely. Is there a way of getting them going again if so?

What information would you like? I dont really know the brand of yeast as I was a couple of weeks ago, except the fact it was a 'Cider' yeast.

What Final Gravity should I be looking for?

After 1 week of fermenting (I bought my hydrometer AFTER making the cider, Don't ask...) my specific gravity was 1.050, now another week on I'm at 1.020. What is considered dry, medium, sweet? Also, it's SUPER cloudy, can I add beer finings? Thanks :)
