Hi,
I'm currently in the US and I'd like to get some inexpensive gear for all grain brewing. What online store would you recommend or what kit would you suggest?
Thanks
I kept the beer for couple more days in colder temperature (no secondary) and used a filter bag to bottle the beer - it looks really good for a pumpkin ale!
Yeah, I was thinking if I should do secondary, but how do I get that haziness down? Can I apply gelatine when the yeast is laying down there? Should I just leave it there for another week and lower the temperature a bit?
I'm about to put my Pumpkin Ale to the secondary fermentation, however it's really hazy as I used a lot of spices and the pumpkin left a bit of pulp. Well in this style you get a bit hazy beer, but I want to make it look a bit more appealing.
Do you think that using such a filter...
In my last brew I just used one pack, but I just boiled the water and poured into a coup. I waited for 2h and put the yeast in for 15 min. I pitched into the wort and it started working almost exactly after 12h.
I'm using US05 for the first time and I noticed something I've never seen before. For the first five days the gas was pushing slowly the air up the fermentation lock(there was no bubbling), and now as the krausen is decreasing, the water is being slowly "sucked" towards the whole in the lid...
Thanks. The craft beer market is really big now here. There are quite a lot of festivals going on throughout the year, and new breweries are popping up. You should try either Baltic Porter by Pinta or Imperium Prunum by Kormoran - Baltic Porter brewed with smoked Polish plums.
IPAs, Stouts, Porters(haven't made Baltic version though), English Ale, Golden Ale, Belgian IPA, one Lager and the last one is Pumpkin Ale which just started fermenting. I am still exploring various styles in my brewing adventure
