if itis stainless then sure.
Type in how to make a keggle on youtube and you will learn everything you need. i just converted a keg into a keggle with an angle grinder and a drill. you can purchase a weldless ball valve and you have an awesome brew pot!
i am leaving work early to go...
i did fire the pot back up.
i had a really nice digital wireless thermometer and it literally just stop working during the mash.
Then i tried 2 other crappy thermometers and they all said i was 140?? so i fired it up and found another thermometer that actually worked and at that point...
thanks. my good thermometer also broke so i was using 2 ****ty ones and my temp was iffy.
i think at one point the temp got above 170 so does that stop the process??
i purchased a new thermometer and have a better understanding of my keggle so next time should be better.

I brewed my first all grain BIAB this weekend and I apparently started with too much water.
I started with 8.3 gallons of water which is what the calculator told me to start with.
I ended up with about 6.5 gallons and the gravity was 1.03:confused: the gravity was suppose to be 1.054...
Actually the inside was remarkably clean.
I dont know why the lady didnt clean the outside. After one wipe down with Clorox the freezer looked 10 times better.
good as new now.
i finally found a good deal on an 18 cubic foot chest freezer on Craigslist. i went and picked it up on Friday and goet he down to $60:rockin:
Here is the BEFORE Pic:
And here is the AFTER PIC:
Turned out really nice. i had to san down the freezer and get rid of any rust spots...
Thanks guys. Looking forward to drinking this one!!!!
this hobby is getting out of control! I wish i started this before the market tanked so i could really spend some money!!
It is because of the hard water. I did the rinse with vinegar and water as well which worked. Then rinse again and use the starsan to sanitize.
i bottled once and due to the amount of work i had a kegerator conversion kit in the mail the next day and have 2 kegs on tap!!! Still love...
My LHBS said i could do All Grain with only a 3 gallon boil for a 5 gallon batch???? is this possible. From searching the site it seems that everything says 5 or 6.5 gallon boils.
I really want to start AG but i dont have the big boling pot and dont want to buy one. I can boil up to 3.5...
i just got an external thermostat and set up my chest freezer for a fermentation chamber. My question is:
when i am finished brewing my batch (pale ale) do you put the fermentor in the chamber right away?? Or do you let the yeast start and then put it in?
My beer has been kegged for a week and is still VERY cloudy. Can i add gelatin now?? i have read several posts and know how to add it correctly, just wondering if it will help since the keg is already carbonated.
Thanks,
i bottled my beer last thursday. My newbeeee question is:
Should there be bubbles on the top of each beer in the bottle or not??
Mine do not have bubbles and i have not opened one yet to determine if there is carbination.
Thanks for the help
I think i will use the fridge for serving now, and when summer gets near go ahead and buy the controller for fermenting. Thanks for the advice. Plus i can aways convert the freezer back if needed during deer season for all my buck stix!!
