    Fermenting question

Thanks. Checked on it this morning and it's churning away every 3 seconds. Cheers

    Fermenting question

Since pitching the dry yeast it is now bubbling every 5-6 seconds. Hopefully it'll be ok.

    Fermenting question

It was kept covered. It is a commercial container from Briess. The wort and "starter" were easily within 10 degrees of each other when I pitched. Following the advice of another shop, I pitched some dry PA yeast. Safale I believe?...

    Fermenting question

First time doing it so my I asked my local brew store proprietor. He gave me a 2-3 G container which had some residuals of malt extract in it. He said to run hot water in it, pitch the yeast, shake it up thoroughly and leave the cap on but not tight in order to let a bit of air escape if...

    Fermenting question

Brewed and put in fermenter 5 G of Satsuma IPA approx. 4pm New Years day. I used a starter of WL001 which had been stewing for a couple of days (inadvertently). It took 36 hours before the action started and is still only bubbling every 16-17 seconds or so. My question is: Do I pitch...

    White Labs #WLP001...

I used it in a starter for a Satsuma IPA and it's taken ~36 hours for it to start up. Still bubbling around 20sec. or so.

    Bottle Cleaner Contraption

I've been searching but I must not be looking for the right thing. What is the name of the bottle cleaner aid that you press the bottle down onto and it sprays upward? I think it's red and white in color. Thanks.

    New Orleans Bars

The Barley Oak in Mandeville (Northshore). http://www.thebarleyoak.com/beer/ They always get a few special beers in to try out, usually only a keg. They have pretty good food as well. The owner is opening up his own brewery within the next year or so.

    From S. Louisiana

Not sure, I'm offshore at the moment. But where I live we're in no danger. Can't say the same for a lot of others though. Ha! Thanks!

    First Attempt

Thanks. I'm thinking it's not the whole batch either. Here's hoping at least. Covington... crappy traffic. I live north in the country side so it's very nice and quiet. It's growing very fast. My wifes family (from here) say they can remember dirt roads and no Wal-mart.

    First Attempt

My brother-in-law brewed a traditional pale ale with great success in my opinion. Together we tried a red ale that the local brewshop had a recipe for. After fermentation, it was a beautiful red color. A sample taste showed it to be on the right track. Odor was perfect. We bottled and...
