    So who's brewing this weekend?

    Got a busy one Saturday: brewing a Pliny the Elder clone, Jamil's chocolate hazelnut porter, and an American amber.

    BREWPUBS in Huntsville!!!

    I'll have to keep an eye on this. I live about an hour away (Rome, Ga), but that's close enough to come check out new brewpubs. It'd be nice for Alabama to see some positive changes after all of the disappointing legislation you've had to deal with.

    Walking my wife through brewing her first batch Sunday, an Irish Red that she formulated with Beersmith. I didn't even have to make any major revisions!

    I'm actually taking my wife to our LHBS today to get the ingredients for her first batch. I think I may be a little more excited than she is. That aside, the last time my buddies came over to brew, she brought us out a tray of chocolate covered bacon she cooked for us and kept trays of food...

    That makes sense. Still don't know that I'd try it again. I might if I'm at a friend's house and someone has a bottle to share. I can't imagine paying for it though.

    I tried it on draft at Mellow Mushroom. Haven't had it from a bottle but the draft incarnation had hints of banana in the aroma. Not like hefeweizen banana, but like cheap banana popsicle banana. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed.

    Cheers, everyone! I'm Chad, I'm in Georgia, and I've been brewing for about 2 years. I've never been much on forums, but I've been reading this one for a while to get tips and answer questions so I thought I'd join up and contribute when I can. I look forward to getting to know all of you.
