Reversing the effects of a lifetime of drinking

IF - Intermittent fasting is my main weight control method. Years ago it would have been inconceivable to go without breakfast and then to skip my 10:00 snack of almonds. Now it's now problem to wait until noon to eat. They key is to be very moderate with the amount of flour and sugar you eat...

    Hop strainer?

I had used the hop strainer for a while, several years ago, and then got away from it for a long time. My systems clogs when using hop pellets so I put them in small muslin bags. I question the resulting utilzation, because of the small size and hence fullness of the bags, and they are a bit...

    Buying bulk hops

That's a good idea. I would use mine a lot more often if I had that. Maybe not necessarily for hops, but for other stuff for sure.

    Buying bulk hops

Regarding the general question 'will hops keep for a year?'. Lets say you go to the freshest highest turnover brewstore in the country in August and buy some US hops - how old do you think they are? They are a seasonal ag product, and therefore whether you buy 'em in October (after the...

Any Deviant Dale's IPA Fans Out There?

Man I had some and I thought it was awful. A bit too sweet, and very grassy, like chewing a hop. And I like pretty hoppy beers. For example I had just had a Green Flash Palate Wrecker and liked that very much. And I'm a big fan of 'regular' Dales, so I had high hopes, but I literally...

    Almost a disaster!

I can buy that theory. But I would suggest that there is nothing unique about your chiller vs the sprinkler or perhaps even 100 ft of hose or anything else. You say there was no spike when you closed the valve with only the hose running but that there was a spike when the IC was connected...

I'll look forward to the results of your test.

    Almost a disaster!

No, no insult intended. However I'm quite sure that your theory about the chiller creating extra backpressure on your water system is completely incorrect. Think a bit about what he said to you (in his clear and friendly way) and it should become more obvious.

    Grain-bulk buy and storage

About a year ago I bought 9 bags of grain, and stored them in the bags in plastic tubs (not airtight) in the crawlspace, where the temp is pretty constant at about 60 or so. Beer I made recently was just as good as beer made a year ago. The grain tastes and smells good. When I open a bag I...
