    I understand taking reading to be sure that fermentation is complete but I have read that the yeast will still continue cleaning up and removing by products of the fermentation process? :confused:

    Time in the fermenter will probably depend on the style of beer and the gravity of the wort. But if you want a general timeline, consider the following Below 1.040 = 3-6 days ferment OG 1.040 - 1.045 = 7-10 days ferment OG 1.045 - 1.050 = 10-14 days ferment OG 1.050 - 1.060 15-21 days...
