I just tried my nut brown ale 4 days after it was bottled and man is it ever good! the carbonation is great and its gotta be at least 5% and it tastes great. This was my first batch so i was skeptical how it would come out, bu tnow im just soo happy that its good. thanks for all the tips guys...
I just finihsed bottling form the secondary. what should the least amount of time be before i can crack one to sample. I know i should wait for it to carbonate a bit.
what do you guys think?
My buddy and i went splits on this batch and we really wanna drink it soon, so does it matter how long it stays in the secondary if we dont care about aesthetics. Or can i bottle in a couple days and wait for it to carbonate.
will it still ferment in the seocndary or does it shock the process cus iv had in the primary for 5 days and i really wanna do somthing. Is it best to just wait till its been a week?
Actuall its kinda the opposite for a couple days i started out at around 71 F, then it when up to around 74 evan 76 F (it was kinda hot for a day or so) and now its down to 69/70. so im not sure why its kinda starting again.
btw what should my specific gravity be when im done? I didnt take one...
i pitched my yeast in the primary on sat and two days ago the head of faom fell and the brew was just bubling like champaign and i was about to transfer into the carboy, but now theirs another head. This is funny i thought the "kraeusen only happens once. Does this mean my brew is gonna be...
oh ok cus i thouht your supposed to transfer it after the heads gone but theirs some fermentation still hapening that why iv got the air lock for the carboy?
well right now its in a pail with a plastic sheat and elastic seal so i can look inside without opening it, and the guide my homebrew shop gave me says that once the head of foam is gone (2-5days) thats when it should be siphoned into the glass carboy.
So Im thinking i should siphon it off into...
Well i pitched my yeast on sat night, and this morning the head of foam is gone all i see is tiny bubbles everywhere poping on the surface. Does this mean its time to transfer into the carboy?
thanks
