    I workout... not really

Exactly. I think it can be intimidating trying to figure out where to start, especially if you want to bulk up. My recommendation is start slow, its like brewing beer. It takes time to learn how to do it and do it right. Just keep working at it and learn as much as you can. Form and technique...

    I workout... not really

I agree for the most part, i just don't advocate cutting them all at once and i think that body mass should be considered. an individual with more lean body mass will need more carbs than one with less (ie muscle mass) bodybuilding.com has great advice for just this sort of thing even if your...

    I workout... not really

I work out 6 days a week, 4 days heavy lifting and 2 days distance training. i started exercising to loose weight for a competition at work, ended up falling in love with power lifting and ended up loosing 80lbs as well. that was two years ago. Not that i'm an expert or anything though but i...

    Clean in place recomendations

Sorry, just realized this is probably the wrong place for this topic, i would move it if i could. I am currently designing and sourcing the plumbing for a 3 vessel automated electric brewing rig. Currently I intend to do an all stainless steel permanent plumb. I would like to be able to clean...

Advice for building a brew system

My thoughts were to attach my chiller just before the whirl pool pump. Chill the entire mass down than drain into my fermenter. If i have a SS screen on my pick up tube in the kettle that should be able to deal with the cold break right? I'm not that worried about a little trub in the...

Advice for building a brew system

This is very good information biertourist, thanks again. Luckily where i work we have a well equipped metal working shop so bending a ss tube should be doable. I'm still a little confused as to what you think might be the optimum way to filter out trub and hop matter via the whirl pool...

Advice for building a brew system

The pick up tube is something i could modify though isn't it? At least where it picks up from if no its diameter. As for as tri clamps and sanitary fittings go i plan on using them only one the cold side. it doesn't make sense to me to spend the money on the hot side if your boiling it anyways.

Advice for building a brew system

Thank you very much for the info biertourist, i appreciate it. I was looking to use a 15 gal brew kettle, i have yet to size out the mash tun and HLT. I intend to do 10 Gal batches. I get the impression it might be a good idea to look at a 20 gal HLT? I'm going stout tank because of the...

Advice for building a brew system

I've been brewing for a year now and currently use a cheap 12 gal ss brew pot with a lot of scorching problems. After looking around I decided i like stout tanks equipment and intend to buy one of their 15 gal kettles. Its expensive but i don't want to buy another kettle that is just a step...

Formulating my first Imperial IPA recipe

Thanks for the feed back motorneuron, i ran the recipe through beer smith, the exact numbers are on a different computer. the OG though is in the upper 1.080's and FG around 1.014 with an abv of 9%. i chose that hop scheduled after reading about contentious hopping methods. though i get what...

Formulating my first Imperial IPA recipe

I've been brewing for about 10 months now, 6 months all grain. We (two friends and i that all pitched in to buy the equipment) started brewing this and that to see what style relay grabbed us. Well it turned out to be Imperial IPA something that i only acquired a taste for about 6 months ago...
