Did you ever figure this out? I have the same issue. Commercial keg burps a blast of foam and gas then pours nice clean beer. Not too much of an issue because the foam settles out pretty quickly and I can always top it off. Just trying to get my setup as good as can be.
Thanks again for the great advice. I tried cranking the psi and submersing the connections. Found two and tightened them and it seems to be holding. I was confused that both the commercial and corny kegs lost pressure but the gas in was leaky on both.
(I bought the lube too just in case. If...
Thanks everyone. I had not thought of beverage lube. I did not even look at it not knowing why I would want to lube a beverage. Also they sell it by the line leak foam so I thought it was some unnecessary gimmick product. Guess that is what I get for judging a book by its cover.
Howdy HBT. I have a handful of keg issues going on and one of the problems of being new to kegging is I don't quite know how to describe the issues. I hope the beer gods will look past these basic questions and help me out so that I can learn and return the favor in the future.

Thanks guys that is likely what its going on with the secondaries. However with the primary I was using bubbling within the beer itself and that was quiet vigorous. Did not know about atmosphere changes though, that is pretty interesting.
I know my beer will be OK, I'm just looking for a bit of education and context. Did beermunchers Newcastle clone. Messed up my volume (nearly filled my 3 gal carboy to the brim) and pitching (could only get about 3/4 of wyeast pack in) but everything got off to a great start. But I had solid...
Hey BM or anyone who has brewed this. When filling my primary I took my eye off the carboy and ended up filling her up pretty high. This meant that when I added yeast it filled up to the brim and there was a bit of yeast left over. I do 3 gal batches so figure this is not a prob. Had a...
Is anyone who uses an 8gal Megapot w/ball valve and brewmomoter have a beer smith 2 profile they are willing to share. I searched around for some collection of profiles and could not find any?

This is an example of a happy accident, took a bad gravity reading so I added more extract. Ended up boosting the abv to 13.2%. But this beer is really smooth for as boozy as it is. Last one I cracked was 6 weeks in the bottle and it was just starting to carb up. Don't really know if it would be...
Thanks for the comments Revvy I learn from nearly every post you throw up. I do a 2ndary to keep the yeast out of the bottle, (dont like drinking yeast paste). But for my next batch I will let it sit in the primary to really compact. One question, I do 3 gal batches do you think that will...
Awesome! A day before brew day I look for and DL any new app. All have disappointed. I want an app to execute beer Smith not create. Ideally it would help with timing and measurement. Notes and trouble shooting would be a bonus. By trouble shooting I mean if your gravity is low how much dme...
