    Truby beer at Keg EoL?

That is normal in my experience. Usually when I rack from primary to a keg and carb in the fridge, the first couple of pints are cloudy and then it clears up for the rest of the keg. Let it settle for awhile and if doesn't get better then I suppose you could rack back to a carboy as you...

    Truby beer at Keg EoL?

That's odd. I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. I brewed a cream ale in June and used gelatin in the keg to clear the beer. It worked great and I had ultra clear beer. It's been in the kegerator ever since. Last night I decided to bottle the rest of the keg as I am going to submit it...

can a pressurized keg keep its pressure?

Keep in mind, regardless of which method you use, you will need the CO2 tank to push the beer from the 15 gal keg when you are in the desert. I would buy a 'Y' or 'T' adapter and some gas line and a gas disconnect and get them both up to the proper carb level. The 5 gal keg will holld...

Anyone have an AG recipe for Founders Dry Hopped Pale Ale?

I've been searching the web for a recipe to clone this beer and haven't had any luck. I was wondering is anyone had a recipe for this beer or could point me in the right direction. Thanks.

    Detroit, MI Water Analysis

Also, is there anyone in SE Michigan that brews with tap water? Most of us get it from the same Detroit water supply. If so, what additions/dilutions do you make?

    Detroit, MI Water Analysis

Thanks for the replies! I went to the ezwater site and plugged in my numbers for a 10 gal batch that has an 8.5 gal mash volume and 5.5 gal sparge volume. If I make no additions or dilutions, I end up with a residual alkalinity of 53 and a chloride to sulfate ratio of 0.60. Now, if I add 1 ml...

    Detroit, MI Water Analysis

I am an all grain brewer who, up to this point, has used bottled spring water in my brews. I have found the water analysis (at the tap) for my municipal water supply, but I'm not 100% sure it is good for brewing or what style it would suit best (or what shouldn't I brew w/o chemical additions...

5 Gallon Igloo Cooler Mash Tun with False Bottom

I bought the 10 gallon version from them (they are my LHBS) and couldn't be happier as I fly sparge with this: http://www.northernbrewer.com/default/stainless-sparger-large.html I would get the 10 gal version if you plan on making 5 gal batches with large grain bills.

    Sanitizing your spoon

I don't sanitize items that are going to be in contact with boiling wort. Just make sure everything is clean.

what is the most acurate type of thermometer?

If stirring and using a short thermocouple doesn't give a good enough result, then why would a longer probe on a thermocouple do any better?
