to make a long story short there were no lables on the tank that i could see could not find tera weight.there were some sanke keg dispensers attached.gas dealer said he had no idea how this tank got filled.so i bought a new 10pound tank and regulator. now i am force carbing beer right now.
Bought a CO2 tank some time ago, and I'm trying to find out what's in it. I'm not sure if there is Nitrous Oxide or CO2 in it. What can I do to find out what is in it?

so i have an upright freezer.a sears coldspot.i want to make this into a kreezer.
before i start looking for parts/kegs i guess i should first worry about temp control.
off hand i didnt notice a thermastat dial in there. any advice or suggestions.
just finished bottling 46 beers about 5 beers spilled all over me and on the floor and i some how broke the racking cane.
the good news is filled a bottle half way didnt want to cap a half bottle of beer so the mrs and i tried some and it was f king great no off smells or taste.
so now...
i have some questions
when i rack to bottling bucket do i need a lid on it when i start to bottle.
i sanitize with b t f solution is that stuff a no rinse.

i was thinking of leaving it in primary for 3 weeks .then bottling for 3 or more weeks
i will use a secondary when i start to brew more,a kit or type of beer calls for it.right now im just worried about contamination.
the porter i brewed has been in the fermenter for a week.i dont think im going to go to a secondary.should i still take a hydro reading or aleast take the lid off to see /smell any off flavours.
