    Took out the cork and it let out a small poot, no louder than say opening a can of soda. The top seems to like its new shape. I reinstalled the cork and bubbles imidiately started flowing. I will keep an eye on it tonight. Thanks everyone.

    Air escaping through the fan vent was a thought. I have not noticed any problems so far. We have had a little snow this year, and the weather has been very mild. Portland has hit mid 50s on quite a few occasions. With lows in the mid to upper 30s. I thought about thin flexible plastic...

    I went through the same worry. Yes, it is a small space heater. Howver it is on the lowest heat setting. (nice for the power bill) And, it has its own safety shut off. I think I did okay with the insulation, the darn thing barely runs. Once the "box" got warm, it holds it heat very well...
