    RIP Sanyo 4912 Kegerator ??

Frosting is a symptom of a low charge. You could get it topped off. but if it happens again fairly soon, might be time to think about alternitives.

    RIP Sanyo 4912 Kegerator ??

Low freon cut off switch isn't a given. Measuring the compressor for ohms between phases and ground can shed some light. (unplugged of course) (had a few, so not going to give specs. Catch me before beer:30 :D ) And if its a low freon cut out, if its low, it needs a recharge and more...

Carbonating a keg. Keep it cool or not?

How I spent my afternoon Pic isn't so great. The wood is Tulip wood, looks a lot better then the pic. (Wasn't too much fun on a metal lathe with hand carving chisels.:drunk:) I thought I had a great idea for the medallion on top. I cut the top of a food can and stuck it to the...

Your opinion of refilling vs. swapping

I work with ultra high purity CO2, (usually require bottle certs for commissioning machine). Medical grade can be as low as 99.5 %(ie: 2.5) I use/need 4.8 (ie:99.998% pure yes it matters a LOT) Food grade falls in the 99.5 range, but the diff is the amount of 'other stuff' (as a comparison a...

For what its worth, icing of the coils is typically low freon charge.

    How/When to use Keg Lube

Its an assembly lube. I'd think if you use starsan, its slippery enough if you assembly it while still wet.

    Beverage Factory

Call your CC and see if you can get a local HVAC guy come out and have that bill deducted from what BF gets. Or just put a stop on the payment and see how fast it gets resolved. explain to the CC about the shipping costs.

    underfill a keg?

Been doing 1 gal batches and about to step up to 5g. But had been pondering the 2.5 & 3 gal kegs for recipe creation. Any probs with under filling a keg?

Mash Tun? Is PVC a bad choice?

Just shooting from the hip.....(and opinionated!) But PVC is used in drainage, not supply. CPVC can be used for supply. CPVC has a melting point of 212C and working temp of 90C (but where is its outgassing point?) Plastics are usually made from oil/petroleum doesn't sound all that safe...

    BIAB pH?

I'm diggin the BIAB method. Should I add in the 5.2 stuff or just let it roll. (I do have pH meters, but never remember to use them :drunk: )

    DIY Temp Controller

Its not as of yet, but will be. Since I have the whole house automated, its just the time to code up the PIC to use my protocol. Plus then I can ramp up/down the temps as the fermentation progresses (and all from 1500 miles away from home. I travel a lot)
