    Can’t stop MFL leak

The seller reached out and wants to replace them. I’ve used these guys plenty and they’re not trying to cheat anyone, I think they maybe the consistency isn’t great. You get what you pay for.

    Can’t stop MFL leak

I did have a couple of those washers on hand and they improved the situation but it still leaked. Ultimately the no-leak situation I have now is with no washer. *shrug*

    Can’t stop MFL leak

Those are exactly the ones I’m dealing with.

    Can’t stop MFL leak

Pressure is still holding in the lines at 20 PSI after about 12+ hours. In conclusion, I bought cheap on Amazon and something between the flare swivel and the QD is finicky. I suspect the flare swivel is deformed and needs to find the "sweet spot" against the QD's plastic surface. For those...

    Can’t stop MFL leak

Ugh, so after screwing around dismantling a reassembling, it seems like perhaps I got something to seat better and I’m not getting any leaks. Maybe all the cursing helped. I’ll leave it with some pressure in the line overnight and see if it holds. Nah, much less sophisticated. The end of the...

    Can’t stop MFL leak

It’s the flare-end of the barb/flare piece. The barb side is okay…wish it were a little more “oversized” but it’s at least not presently leaking. I’ve tried 3 different QDs including an older one that I know at least doesn’t leak. Pictured below is where the bubbles are coming from (the bubbles...

    Can’t stop MFL leak

I tried a “known good” QD and it still leaks. The common factor here is the barb/female side of the connection. Visually looks fine—smooth and polished where it interfaces the washer—but I guess not good enough. I’ll scrounge up another one and see what happens. This set came with two and they...

    Can’t stop MFL leak

It’s leaking from the flare fitting, not the post. It leaks when it’s not even on the post. Honestly, haven’t even tried yet.

    Can’t stop MFL leak

I’m expanding my system to accommodate a second keg to force carb while in storage. I picked up some QDs from Amazon and can’t stop them from leaking at the MFL connection. I have tried every combination of the following: A) cranked down like hell on it—I think I may have even busted one as the...

Corny Keg Corny 5G Cooler Giveaway

I usually only get it as far as my own porch but if I had a keg sized cooler, I’d probably take it out on the (sail) boat with the racing crew.

My “Dirty” Secret: Reusing my Fermenter

@McMullan here’s what the krausen line looks like after 3 uses. Brewing #4 now.

My “Dirty” Secret: Reusing my Fermenter

@Red over White I’ve been eying those all-rounder/fermzilla type vessels too. I like that I wouldn’t have to cut back my batch size. If anything, I’d rather brew 6 gallon batches.

My “Dirty” Secret: Reusing my Fermenter

I’m curious why you wouldn’t do each batch twice and get 6 uses. Not enough variety or too many generations of yeast?

My “Dirty” Secret: Reusing my Fermenter

I do both. I start aerating when it gets cool enough by recirculating through the lid. I pause oxygenating to whirlpool then pump it fairly aggressively into the fermenter, completely blowing apart the yeast cake.
