Home Depot Sellin' 10 gal coolers for $40

I do 10 gallon batches, and I routinely do 8% beers with the 10 gallon home depot mash tun. You have to take your time, but i've done as much as 35 lbs of grain. let the grain soak up the water, and do it slow, and you have no problem mashing that much grain. The good thing about the round...

    Stirplate for Carboys?

Nothing wrong with the process, this is how long it takes, and that's not including letting it age a month or so. This is with a gallon starter, it takes a while is all. And it's not that the beer is undrinkable, or a gusher, the increase in carbonation is slight. after about 6-9 months it's...

Awsome build man, you can tell all the work you put into it. I have young kids too, and they are suprisingly good at getting to your taps and yanking them once in a while. As soon as I hear the familiar streamy splash of my beer hitting the floor, i'm up and running, Ha ha. Hasn't...

I didn't want to go through that much trouble. For me, just not putting a drip tray in was the easiest thing to do. Plus the kids would be screwing with it, it was just easier. I'm not saying I don't think drip trays are the way to go, they are if you have a drain for it. If not you have to...

Actually those perlicks are nice, and only drip about 3 times after a pour. Even if some does drip, it's a quick wipe up later. I thought about the hole in the door thing, now I got open liquid in the door, that's gonna smell like ass, and I know i'm going to tip it over. I know drip trays...

I posted mine earlier, but here it is with all 5 taps hooked up. Need the lock on the door for the kids, and went with no drip tray, because I don't have a drain. Anyone that has ever worked in food service knows how gross drip trays can get.

    Stirplate for Carboys?

What i'm trying to do, is to specifically speed up fermentation times on certain beers. We have all waited close to a month for our favorite belgian to finish. If you don't let those bad boys finish, they will continue to ferment out in your nice 750ml bottles, and while they won't blow up...

Been working on this since August, just had to find the time to get it done. Pulled off the inside door, pulled out the old fiber glass. Got a sheet of insulation, and the back of the sheet was covered with foil. I thought I'd keep that theme going, and filled the cracks and corners with...

    chest vs stand-up freezer

[/IMG] In the middle of doing it now. This has the coils in the shelves, so I used bolt cutters to cut the wires to the coils, and bended them up when the freezer was warm. This freezer was free, and they look, great in a kitchen where a chest freezer would look out of place. i'm going to...
