Don jalapeño by no label brewing is a great texas beer. Jester king beers are also great local beers and I see people regularly seeking them out in the trade forums.
Despite all my attempts to royally f*** up this beer, this came out great!
Here's a few of the more ridiculous things that happened.
- Forgot to add a gallon of water (Lesson learned, less beer and distractions on brew day)
-Leaky clamps on chiller slowly leaking horrible chlorinated hard water...
I just cracked one that had only been in the bottle for 10 days. I expected it to be green and under carbed... which it definitely was. But man it had a nice flavor! I cant wait to taste it again after it is aged for a bit.
I added 5 vanilla beans to the bourbon for a week. Tossed bourbon and 3...
Awesome! Thanks for posting that. I just bought 12 pack of these and would love to just brew my own... especially when a 12 pack cost and arm and a leg.

Im sure you are right. But reading through this thread showed there are several that did not.
Even if I nail the OG, I would not be in the least upset by a bit more ABV from extra fermentables

Hey fellow home brewers,
I am making the extract version this weekened. I have read much of this thread and the posts from the extract guys who didnt hit their gravity numbers concerns me. I like my IPAs to be strong and would consider this a failure if my beer came in at 5%.
I would like to...
I agree that everyone should stop drinking MOST of the beers listed in that article......But not for any of the reasons that the author listed.

Nice to see another suby guy around here! I drive a 2012 STI limited. Modified of course and tons of fun.

My bourbon barrel porter is about to hit the brew pot. Im planning on adding oak , bourbon, cacao nibs, and some vanilla in secondary. Im sure it is going to be delicious.....in 6 months.

Nothing about this beer tasted like chocolate, peanut butter, and banana as advertised. It tasted like fake chocolate and chemicals. I could probably choke down a piss flavored stout if it cost $12 a bottle, but couldn't stomach more than a few sips of this.
