looks like Hood River, OR, has Bend and most places with more than one brewery crushed, however. I thought Hood River was bigger than it was, but they have at least three and a population of 6K.

well, you said it was "not even close." 7/80K, 5/55K and 8/70K seems at least close to me.

yeah, dunno exactly how they did it, but probably has a lot to do with the fact that the beer is good. I have to admit I have a hard time paying for $4 for it in a bar when you get it in a growler for six bucks, though.

I agree, it does seem overkill---although the Deschutes guy is apparently going to do the 50 barrel system and the BBC girl will be doing the 10 barrels. Dunno what happened to the guy who came from Kona, if he's just still there, too, or what. But they do have tentative plans to also bottle/can...

Dunno, probably closer than you think. I see five breweries/brewpubs and 55K people for Burlington/South Burlington. Not really up on my Vermont breweries and geography, tbh. Bend has 80K and seven places in town where they brew, and an eighth set to open this year. And rumors of a ninth...

I am in Bend, great for beer and vacation, imo. Highest number of breweries/bewpubs per capita in the world (edit, there are places with more, as I have been informed here). Without leaving town you can hit a bunch (Deschutes, Bend Brewing Co., Silver Moon, Boneyard, Cascade Lakes, 10 Barrel)...
