    Thanks for the help everybody. Grantman1 it was a lager that just wasn't clearing that I had already transferred to keg; didn't anticipate the issue. Ended up adding gelatin, fridge 48 hrs, poured off a few pints, then slowly transferred keg to keg under pressure and left last few pints in...

    So let's say I have a beer in a keg that I want to fine with gelatin. I have not done much with gelatin to date but from reading I understand that the first few pours or so once everything drops out will be hazy then wha-la, clear. However, I also read that you do not want to move your leg...

    Update: well I may have waited too long. One bottle burst and every other gushed like crazy when (carefully) opened. Whatever was in there had added and earthy aftertaste to what was left of the mead. It may actually have been good had it been able to properly condition... Alas. Just means...

    New bottles, short pbw soak, star San rinse... I definitely agree that it looks like colonies of something. I thought it was a little weird they were on the bottom like that. It's fairly dusty. If I move the bottle around lightly it holds together somewhat but any sort of light swirl starts...

    Not sure if this is just residual yeast flocculating or what... It's at the bottom of most (but not all) my bottles. This mead was in secondary for over two months and bottled about 1 month ago. Just noticed this. Any ideas? Thanks
