This receipe caught my eye. I did a little poking around on the internet and sometimes I cross reference home brewers receipes with Breweru Ommegang (Central NY).

Has anyone here used Flaked Corn instead of Flaked...
Hey I have read all 19 pages of this thread and I can't seem to figure out the boil size. I see the batch size is 5.5 and the mash ratio is 1.25:1. How many gallons do you boil? Thanks
3.6% just doesn't appeal to me to much. I'm not looking to wrecked off of this beer by any means. I guess I was more suprised then anything else by how low the ABV is. Personally, I wouldn't want to make anything south of 4%
Hey I am brewing this beer on Sunday or Tuesday not sure yet. How important is the 2 qt yeast starter. I am a beginner brewer who does all grain. I see many recipes call for it. I was wondering if you could shed some light on the topic thanks
ok so I tried to find someone talking about ABV on this recipe and I didn't see it so I will ask. I put this thing through beer calculus and it says that the ABV is 3.6% is this true. I am aiming for a 10 gallon batch with 11 lbs maris 2 lbs cystal 60 and 3/4 lb chocolate - This beer has gotten...
According to the recipe on the first page of the post - the tablets are added with 10 mins remaining in the boil. "1.00 items Servomyces Capsule (Boil 10.0 min) Misc"
Are those good to use? Some people say yes while others say no. I read that some people get food grade buckets from bakeries around town with lids - so I am trying to call some people.
I'm in the market for a cheap 3-5 gallon plastic bucket. Do either one of you guys have one for sale? Craigslist is pretty bare and I don't really want to spend $35 bucks for a new one.
Another Buffalo Brewer (not part of Brewsters) - I haven't heard of the Brewsters either - I have heard of Community Beer Works or whatever they are called
I was thinking the same, in regards to it wouldn't hurt, but I ended up putting the 5.5 gallon batch in like a 13 gallon carboy and it's pretty hard to take gravity readings. Not the smartest idea on my behalf
Another quick question. So my HomeBrew store didn't carry Servomyces Tablets which speed up the fermentation process. Should I keep my beer in the primary longer because of this? If so another week?
ok so i brewed this last night and primary is underway. Mashed with 4.5 gallons and it yielded maybe 2.5 gallons. Sparged with about 5.5 gallons to get up to the 7 gallion boil. I was suprised that the batch size actually got down to a little less then 5.5 gallons.... So that's where I am - The...
