What Hops are used in Funk Brewing Silent Disco IPA?

I am trying to identify the hops used in this beer, because the strongest flavored hop here has to be my all-time favorite: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/34006/258479/ 6.8% Blend of fruit forward hop notes Pineapple, pinecone, passion fruit, guava, melon, mango, orange, grapefruit

Does anyone here cold brew? What's your process?

The problem I have with cold-brewing at home (aside from the time and the clean-up) is the "dead, dull" flavor it has. There are no delicate aromas or interesting tasting notes. It is just one note. It seems to lose some of the subtle nuances vs. a really good cup of 195-205 F hot brewed coffee...

    IPA Hop Timing Methods

Since my first day of homebrewing, I have been experimenting with achieving maximum hop flavor and aroma in IPAs. Over time, I noticed that some of the delicate, aromatic hop oils might be boiling off if the hops were added to the boil, or even if added to very hot, non-boiling wort. I also...

Extract IPA Grain Bill / Recipe Help

I'm of the opinion that you don't have much room to edit the grain bill as an extract American IPA brewer before the costs start to outweigh the benefits. Any combination of light, extra light, wheat, pilsner extract, and a small portion of simple sugar is fine. That's all you need to brew a...

How to improve this Japanese IPA recipe?

I would have expected a very clean, crisp, pale grist with very little flavor for this style. High carbonation seems like it fits well here too. For the hops, use a cheap high alpha hop at boil start. This will impart very little flavor, but offer adequate bitterness to compete with the...

Help! New brewer needs steeping grains idea for IPA.

Don't use a secondary. The pro's don't outweigh the con's and you could ruin your beer unless extremely careful. You'll want some boil hops for an IPA of that gravity. The bitterness will help to balance out the malt sweetness. 1 oz. Warrior at 60 min should work. Split the rest of the hops...

Help! New brewer needs steeping grains idea for IPA.

Keep it simple and stick to one type of DME for a base. Muntons Light is perfect. That hop selection, minus the Warrior, is stellar. So maybe add the Warrior to a full-rolling boil at boil start, and then pound out the rest of your hops at flameout and dryhop. You could even cut back on 2 oz...

    Hop IBU Injectors?

They are strictly for IBU's and only useful to "inject" during a full-rolling boil of the very start of the wort, such as 90 minutes.

    Imperial IPA Recipe Feedback

Yes... or you can add hops at both times for more punch. Just keep in mind that some isomerization happens at boiling temps (which is still flameout).

    Imperial IPA Recipe Feedback

Edited Recipe: 14.25 lb (85%) Pale two-row 0.5 lb (3%) Crystal 40L 0.5 lb (3%) Carapils (dextrin) 1 lb (9%) Dextrose (corn) sugar You won't notice the deletion of Munich at just 0.25%, and all the C120 adds is a raisiny sweetness. It's better to use the same value or less of a lighter...

    The Walking dead

Long time fan since inception, but I must comment on the horrible acting this season. Aside from Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan), everyone else is awful. He steals the show, despite the lagging plot.

    Starsan Caps $uck!

I agree that they are very flimsy caps. And it's not user error. I've never had a bleach cap break... or break a medicine bottle cap for that matter. Starsan just needs to use better caps to contain such a caustic solution.
