I've been using Scotch.... My Dad drank Scotch and over the years we ended up with a few bottles... And since we don't drink Scotch...why not use it? It smells good when I open the freezer and if it does suck back, I like a nice Scotch Ale...:D

I don't think these controllers are convertible... You are correct. You may need a heat source if you have the freezer in a cool location, I know I do. This is the seller I got mine from. Received it in about a week. $20 w/free shipping...
