Kaiser is a great asset to our community. I'm planning to do a triple decoction German Pilsner very soon. This will be my first triple and I was wondering if I should bring the decoction to a full boil for a given time or just to boiling then flame out.
I usually get 70-75%. I could probably make some adjustments to get that higher which I probably will someday, but for now I'm making real good beer and happy where I'm at with regards to efficiency.
I use a combo of 1lb. Cara Amber + 1lb. Cara Red in my AAA. It has great color and clarity. I have to agree with BobNQ3X in that I would nix the Vienna or at least cut it back to < 5% and go with 75+% 2row. JMHO.
