    bottle sanitizing

Another great sig quote........... Seriously, though, great thread. Another aspect of brewing that I took for granted. Honestly wasn't too worried about bottling until the brew was fermenting.

    Fermentation Cooling

I am working out the logistics of placing my fermenter. I found a good room, downstairs bathroom, that I can keep temps fairly low. I am going to be buying an aquarium heater in case I need to heat the wort, but wondering about cooling. I have plastic buckets as fermenters right now and am...

    Northern Idaho Shops/Breweries

Got home last night. All the beer made it back unscathed (okay, well not all of it...some were sacrificed to the vacation gods). Thanks to all of you from the great Northwest.....lots of good suggestions made for a good "beer" trip.

    Northern Idaho Shops/Breweries

Thanks for all your suggestions. Ate at Daanen's today, AWESOME!!! Went to Sandpoint, hit Laughing Dog, nothing on tap or bottled that I had to have (really had my heart set on a Dogfather). Got two cool pint glasses though. Also stopped in at MickDuffs in dowtown Sandpoint, got a growler of...

    Northern Idaho Shops/Breweries

It just keeps getting better! Thanks! Jims is a for sure stop. Dannens, Laughing Dog and CDA Brewing Co also. So much "beer stuff" I'm not sure if the rest of the family will get to do anything. Well.....I may have to stop at a quilt shop or ten.

    Northern Idaho Shops/Breweries

THanks for the good info. We are planning on taking a side trip to Canada (get our passports stamped), so a stop in Hayden and Sandpoint is possible. We will also be shooting over to Spokane, so I will have to lookup Jims. Again, thanks. Looking forward to this trip for sure!

    Northern Idaho Shops/Breweries

Leaving for northern Idaho on Saturday (the 18th), plan on being in Coeur D'Alene, ID on Sunday through Wednesday (or later depending on the mood). Found Coeur D'Alene Brewing Company. Any good brew shops in the area or other breweries? Recommendations gladly accepted. Thanks D

    A beginner's equipment

Congrats on the order.....I just got my basic brew kit from MoreBeer yesterday. I only live an hour away from their place so it only took two days to get here. But, gotta wait for my broken arm to heal up before I start my brew.....DRATS...keep us posted, your kit looks awesome.

    Brewery names--what's your story?

Not brewin' yet.....gonna have to wait til winter and I can't go outside and work in the backyard anymore....come on rain! But have the name...Blue Dragon Brewery. It won't be hard to come up with some sweet logos. I'm a cop and the name comes from a special enforcement unit I used to...

What commercial beers are in your 'fridge?

A couple of Widmer Hefe's, a couple Flying Dog Classic Pale Ales and a couple of Coor's Light's (for using as cold compresses, throwing at the neighbor's barking dogs and giving to the in-laws)s

    Flying Dog Classic Pale Ale

Finishin' up a six pack of Flying Dog Classic Pale Ale. :mug: So far so good, not bitter at all. Went to their website, they have some great sounding seasonals too. Gonna have to hunt the stores, maybe BevMo.

I was in Folsom last weekend and found Folsom Brewmiester on Riley St in old town. Not a very big shop, but nice people.

    Howdy from Central Cali

Just joined up, I'm really looking forward to learning alot here, from what I've read, it seems like there is a ton of knowledge! Haven't tried brewing yet, but hoping too soon, still gathering up supplies and finishing "honey do's" before I can get a free day.
