As I am sure you have already seen, the information on these boards is endless. Lots of very experienced brewers with great information.

Use the glass for primary. With the Amber you don't need a secondary. You will just transfer to the plastic spigot bucket for bottling. That's a good first brew kit to use to get a feel for the process. I used that for my first and it came out great.

Definitely going to go and pick up a bunch of spare grommets after this event but I am glad to report that my airlock is bubbling nicely now. All looks well so far. Thanks for the responses.

I am new to the group and to homebrewing and am from Northeast Pennsylvania. Just finished up my third batch this weekend. Two from a Home Brew Kit and my first from a DFH 60 Clone Recipe. First batch is in bottles, and other two currently fermenting. I am hooked......

Today, had a great day brewing up a 60 Minute IPA clone. *All went great until putting the airlock in and top on fermenter bucket. *Initial Gravity was spot on, added yeast, all was going great, until the grommet from the cap fell into the bucket.
