The green growth isnt really any indication of the rhizomes health in my opinion. I've had some terrible looking plants that spring back to life once planted. I had a rhizome in a planter that would never sprout so I dug it out and I saw that it had little sprouts that had begun to grow but then...

The cascade and columbus are already beginning to climb the top piece...i'm very optimistic about this setup, once it fills in i doubt you'll be able to tell how ugly it is! :cross: The columbus already has a lot of burrs...

Update: all the hops look really good, the first year rhizomes have kinda stalled but I have no doubt they'll pick back up. The Second year crowns look great. The one cascade crown I planted in the ground took a while to come alive, I thought it was dead at first but a few days ago it emerged...

It'll be fine, plant it and leave it be for a few days, I don;t agree with cutting away the green, plant it so that the green is above the dirt getting sunlight and you should be good to go.

My columbus has done quite well in GA
