If you're not going to direct fire, I've had good luck with wrapping my keggle in 1/2" buna rubber from McMaster Carr then taking it down to the guy that did my truck bed liner and have him spray it with LineX spray.
I recirculate through a semi HERMS unit but during the summer if I hit...
I learned the hard way when I tested my newly finished control box. I couldn't figure why i wasn't getting enough power to the contactor until I measured the voltage after the LED. It dropped from 120 to 4 volts. The LED itself doesn't take much to light it so for 120v LEDs a resister is...
One of two ways. Fill the HLT with mostly ice and a little water and recirculated through the counter flow chiller as before. Or disconnect the HLT altogether and hook it up to the garden hose. I'll try both ways to see which works the best. My guess is the garden hose route.
Your right. It is kind of like having a baby. After that much time, you just want to get it over with.
The water pump on the left looking at the front of the rig continually circulates the HLT through the annulas of the CFC. One PID controls the heating element for the HLT the other PID...
After nine months of messing around I finally got to the point where I could do some sea trials with no loss of life or property. My inspiration was based largely on this thread:
My new brew system, a brutus 10 with some nice modifications
Instead of gas, I went the electric route where...
Thanks to Josh for starting this tread and letting me shamelessly pilfer some of his great ideas. Instead of gas I went the all electric route. But the concept is the same
The sea trial of my new system went great. I just have a few tweeks to make to it and I'll be ready to start my first...
The Line-X guy charged me about $55. He taped it up and used the overspray from a truck bed he was doing. I used some contact adhesive that I had in the garage. I rolled it on to the keg than on to the buna rubber and mated the two. Contact adhesive that they use for formica tops would work...
