What made me think...

I will say that while on vacation in the Black Hills that we went to an awesome brew pub...
I am in the process now of mashing and today and to pre-heat my 10g RM mlt I instead of using hot water I used a hair dryer set on high and layed it in the mlt while the strike water has heating. Mucho quicker and allot more easy than the water method.

Would Rauchmalt be a better fit? If so then how muchwould give a decent hint of smoke, I have never used either one. also thanks for the tip on the Roasted barley, I will have to take that into account.
Any comments on the GoP?
So this is my first go at Beersmith and I was hopeing some of you more experienced guys could help out? I was hopeing to create something unique yet fairly easy to drink, I like smoked beers I have had so it became a smoked IRA and I added the Grains of paradise in for a peppery bite similar to...
I want to do an Ommegang clone that involves a step mash. My question is if it possible to do in a simple 10 gal Igloo cooler. If so then how? I tried to use the search but it is way to broad of a question for it.

I am far from an expert, But , I also did my first AG with BM three crops.
Brew this one again w/ spring water and try to keep your fermenting temps on the low end say around the low 60's with Safale 05 yeast and I used just 2 oz of Williamette at 60 min. and it is dangerously tastee:ban...
This is my first attempt at kegging and have read as much as time allows.
I have a new single keg regulator and a used Pepsi corny along with new hoses and fittings.
My question is that I have my reg set to 30 psi for the last hrs and it will dip down a few psi after a few hours or so. I made...
I should of worded the question better, I did add the whirlfloc in 15 min left in the boil. I pre-heated the MLT also and made the strike water a little hotter than necesary but over the course of 90 min I lost about 5-7 degrees,
I think I am gonna try a false lid next time.
Thanks...
Thanks for the replies.
I have done about 5 steeping grain kits before making the leap to AG.
What can I say I am a control freak and the science of AG enthralls me.
Overall the process went well, My homemade imersion chiller worked great I need to cut down the head space in the MLT (10...
