    Intertap Faucet with Stout Adapter

Cool thanks fellas. I just took it off the gas and let it vent. I'll vent it a few more times to drop the carb level and then hook the gas back up. I'll keep ya posted along the way.

    Intertap stout spout problems

Thanks that's actually awesome advice carbing at room temp I was struggling with my regulator at 38 degrees. And thanks again for the reply, it sucks spending over 200 bucks on a nitro setup and not getting the results you're looking for. This helped for sure.

    Intertap stout spout problems

So do you carb with 100% co2 first and then switch to beer gas? And if so how long do you let sit on beer gas before serving? Thanks

    Intertap Faucet with Stout Adapter

So I was under the impression that nitrogen didn't get dissolved in the beer but it appears I'm wrong, the stout faucet is what knocks it out of solution. So I'll leave it hooked up for a week and see how it goes. Do you carb with co2 first and then let it sit on beer gas?

    Intertap stout spout problems

So after some further reading it appears the nitrogen does get dissolved but the restricter plate helps knock it out of solution? Seems like I need the beer gas hooked up for at least a week to get nitrogen dissolved in the beer.

    Intertap Faucet with Stout Adapter

Hey Dino, So I pulled the trigger on the intertap stout spout but my results were nothing like yours. My head almost immediately dissipated. I carbed to 2 vols, using ten feet of beer line, 25 psi of beer gas (tried 30 psi too no change) any suggestion? I carbed with co2 it's only been on...

    Intertap stout spout problems

Hey all, Kinda disappointed... installed my nitrogen setup with the new intertap stout spout. Here's the run down -Beer gas is 75/25 nitro/co2 mix at 25 psi (I tried several pressures between 20 and 30 psi) -dry Irish stout (finished at 1.020 unfortunately) previously carbonated to 2.0...

Right on thanks for the replies.

    Compressed gas fumes

I just read an article of someone local who died from exposure to fumes from liquid nitrogen. It got me thinking about our setups at home with ten pound co2 or nitrogen tanks. If a major leak were to occur, like a busted hose, would the amount of gas from either co2 or nitrogen be enough to...

Thinking about going eBIAB system. Need some convicing :D

+1 for the avantco 3500 watt induction burner and no pump. When I first started brewing I bought a 10 gallon cooler mash tun to batch sparge. First, it was a pain to clean the mash tun. After my first stuck sparge it was back to brew in a bag. I've since added a pulley system and purchased a...

    Preheating strike water

Anyone Biab brewers out there preheat their strike water the night before? It takes me a little over 45 minutes to set up my kettle, measure water and get to strike temp, but every bit counts when you're trying to brew during the week. I figure if I get home and it's a little low I can just...

    Zombie dust Maris otter

Thanks, MO is Crisp Gleneagle, pretty fresh. Another question. When I put 100% MO into beersmith it gave me an SRM of 5.7, which was pretty light. I like the idea of a SMASH, so I can dial in MO and Citra, but is there any way to darken the color a bit without changing the flavor?

    Zombie dust Maris otter

Hey all. I'm trying to do a zombie dust clone using the NB recipe, but I want to use Maris otter as my base grain. The original recipe calls for 5 gal OG 1.060 10.5 lbs 2-row 1.5 lbs Munich .5 lb carapils .5 med crystal .5 oz Citra FWH 1 oz Citra 20 min 1 oz Citra 10 min 1 oz...

    Aging imperial stout?

After thinking about it, I may want to let these age in bottles. Probably won't drink 11.5% beer fast enough to donate two kegs worth of space in the kegerator. So maybe secondary for another month and then add coffee and bourbon/oak the last week of secondary before bottling?
