Great Lakes Hops - Paradigm. First Impressions

Pro brewer here in Michigan. I actually live about 15min from the Hang Em High fields and know the owners well. Highly recommend their stuff. Best beer I’ve brewed was an Emerald Spire Dry Hopped Lager. 100% Wyermann Pilsner, Amalyze enzyme to dry it out, 2 boil additions Emerald Spire at 10...

    Best NEIPA hop combos

At my brewery here in Michigan I use Huell Melon in one of our NE IPA's along with El Dorado and Mosaic. Huell Melon smells super pungent in the packaging but I don't feel like it translates to flavor/aroma as I'd like. Recipe below: 67.5% 2-Row 14.7% White Wheat .2% Crystal 10 8.6% Flaked...

    East Coast Syle IPA Advice

I use Calypso in my Kolsch up at the brewery to supplement the lack of Apple/Pear I get from White Labs 029 to help align it more with the style/flavor I look for. Pretty strong flavor profile, leans more towards green apple in my experience.

    East Coast Syle IPA Advice

I've brewed a few batches of an 'East Coast' style IPA - one recently for the brewery I own - turned out to be our best seller for the season. I combed through the numerous forum posts here on HBT and honestly the amount of research put into the style was a huge help - definitely worth reading...

    Lavender flower help

So I've done 2 lavender beers now - a wheat and an ale, the latter I currently have on tap. The first beer was based on a beer by Black Rocks Brewery in Marquette, MI called Honey Lav, and the latter based on a beer my buddy wanted to brew. My buddy wanted to do a Lavender, Honey (malt), and...

Midnight Wheat Malt for Black IPA Opinions

So I decided to dabble with some Midnight Wheat in my recent Black IPA recipe recently and am completely satisfied with the results. Living in Michigan, I have the luxury of traveling to Founders quite often and I recently fell in love with their All Night IPA - a Session Black IPA utilizing...

    STONE... Master of Disguise Clone

After having a bottle of Master of Disguise and trying a local Michigan beer by Bravo Zulu called Sumatra Gold, I wanted to try my hand at creating something similar. Here's the recipe I came up with - please keep in mind, this was in no way meant to be a clone of Master of Disguise. 5 Gallon...
