    clarity sucks...

so I finally popped open a bottle from my very first brew immediately noticed it's murky brown. is this normal or did I mess up somewhere along the line? it tastes fine to me, no sediment on the tongue, just looks like a milkshake. it's a bass ale clone btw, tastes pretty similar which was my...

    need help fast

it's a 5oz package of Priming Sugar from Midwest Brewing Co. It came with my Bass clone kit. there aren't any directions with it either. I'm tempted to just dump the entire package in and see what happens nd then let it sit in the bottle for a month or two to let the sugars work their magic.

    need help fast

I started a batch right over a month ago and 2 days after I'd started I was sent out on business. I've just returned and wanted to bottle it now, but didn't know if it would still be good. My buddy said to just skip moving it from my primary to the carboy and go straight to bottling. I...

    Any recommendations on first brews

My new kit's in the mail after my first one turned out to be sucky. Now I just need to decide which beer I want to start off with. Are there certain recipes that are better off left to more experienced brewers? I truly love all beers so it doesn't matter what my first batch is. Cheers

    Has anyone every made grappa?

my buddy who's helping me get started with my brewing owns a winery here in northern Italy. he also makes his own beers, and the sweet aqua vitae known as grappa. just curious if anyone else makes that on the side, or wines for that matter?

    Greetings from Italy

Pretty good, there is an Italian hbs down the street and a goodfriend of mine owns a winery and homebrews on the side. the language barrier is a bit tough at times since I'm an American, but the Italians love and know how to make anything alcohol related so I think I'll be alright in the end...

    Greetings from Italy

After receiving a home brew kit as a wedding gift (God bless you Dad), I was finally able to open it up and start cooking. Turns out it's a bit more complicated than I'd thought so here I am. This site is awesome, has tons a great info for the n00bs like myself, and is helping to convince my...
