    Show Us Your Label

Newest label (ABV is a sample, I have to get the numbers at home tonight). Thoughts? I think I like my dog cartooned like this. Not a big fan of the pure photo version. (Starring Seamus, my Jack Russell.)

First hombrew- label for an Irish red ale

Ah! You have to figure out what you should brew that will be worthy of his cute puggy face! :D

I love the center section! Great font. I like your "story" you tell, too! Looking good. I think trying out different patterns or colors would be good for the sides. What about a more fabric looking flannel? Or barn boards as a red texture? j

In the future I might go a bit more detailed, but I'm behind on my labeling. Anyway, this is a beer similar to Troeg's Hopback but with an overwhelming (and delicious) Simcoe flavor and aroma. It's also our first AG and it came out great! I was somewhat surprised at the notable difference in...

Thanks! That is a good idea. The hoseclamp did add a nice aroma. Our hop addition bag (PVC 4" with hoseclamp and paint strainer, held by a copper cross beam) collapsed. So now it has screws below the hoseclamp for a nice ledge. Who would have thought!? :D

Forgot the brew dates on this one, but oh well. We've already started drinking it, as I'm a bit behind. Can you find the hilarious brew day accident??

What is the wildest brew you have brewed - or what is a 'Strange Brew' to you?

Were these any good? They sound crazy, but interesting!

    Bad Brew Day

Uh oh! We've had a few mistakes as we got started that were beginner's misunderstandings, but not (knock on wood) super bad days yet. Although, for an English Bitter awhile back, our hop addition sack (made with a 5 gal paint strainer attached with a hoseclamp to a 4" pvc piece drilled for a...

First hombrew- label for an Irish red ale

Great idea! I think I'll do this. I HATE to get the labels in the printer correctly, and I have a giant paper cutter. THanks!

First hombrew- label for an Irish red ale

I agree- I did lots of cloning when I was learning photoshop (CS4 and CS5). Another option, but not as powerful, is Adobe Elements. I would recommend Elements to a beginner, but then recommend graduating to Photoshop. You can learn Photoshop through online tutorials or how-to books like "Adobe...

Husbands AG vs Beerfest birthday present

Hey, fellow State College-r, yes, we're going to MTB. Wasn't sure what to call it in a succinct way. I'm excited about it. Thanks for the book recs! My friend and his wife use Homebrew4less.com/the LHBS associated with the website in Chambersburg, both online and in person. He recommends it.

    Label Removal Thread

I use an Oxyclean knock off called Sun. Works like a charm. Sink the bottles in a tub (I use our washtub/sink in the basement) by filling with water, and use only as much water as you need to cover the bottles, thus making the solution more concentrated (1 scoop to this minimum amount of water)...

First hombrew- label for an Irish red ale

Hey all, My husband and I brewed our first batch two weeks ago. We're about to rack it to the carboy. While avoiding some work, I whipped this up. The ale will be named after our JRT, Seamus. I also added the ingredients. I figured we could easy slap one of these on a piece of paper, take...
