PVC is such nasty stuff there is no way I'd want it heated up over my beer.
Beergas is 75/25 nitro/co2 or 70/30 depending on where you get it. This makes sense. I suppose if you could add some sort of a restrictor plate to the syringe you could get a better effect.

Update:
It is clearer and slightly stronger than the silicone but it's a little less resilient to being marked by barbs. I like it on the recirculating mash for the clarity. Pictured here the 2 short darker tubes on the pump box are tygoprene, and the milky tube going from the pump box to the BK...
What you said makes sense, I did a second AT and it seemed to work better.
I brewed again with it and this time it seemed to hover around 1 degree over the set point so I am happy.

Make a platform to get the freezer's lid up to the bar top surface and them mount the surface to the freezer lid rather than the bar. Or at least a section of the bar surface. It kind of sucks to have to lift the whole thing.
